Bumble works a little differently from other dating apps, and that changes what "opening lines" means for guys.

In matches between men and women, Bumble has traditionally let the woman send the first message. Playful "this or that" questions

Why they work: low effort to answer, and her answer gives you something to tease or agree with.

Part 2: How to reply when she messages first

This is where most guys lose it. She opens, and he replies "hey :)" or "haha thanks". The chat dies.

The formula: answer + add something + ask a question.

He answered, gave a detail (the dog's name and personality), and asked an easy question.

Replies to common openers
